SIM card and GPS tracker: what you really need to know
Understand why a tracker uses the mobile network and how MEO includes connectivity in the service.
GPS finds a position. The mobile network sends it to your phone. A connected tracker therefore needs data connectivity, but you do not need to manage a SIM card yourself.
Why GPS alone is not enough
Satellites help calculate an outdoor position. The tracker then uses the mobile network to send it to MEO. If no connection is available, MEO shows the last position received and its time.
Do I need to buy a separate SIM card?
No. Connectivity for MEO Tracker Pet V1 is included in the service: there is no card to insert, technical setup or data top-up to monitor.

What happens when the network is weak?
Buildings, vegetation or a coverage gap can affect reception. MEO clearly shows the time of the last position and signal, and transmissions resume when connectivity returns.
